Wrap Around Care

Tree House Club

The Tree House Club at Lawn Primary offers wrap around care for children from Reception (FS2) to Year 6 and is a vital resource for parents that work or need extra help with childcare. The Tree House Club is a safe, fun and creative environment for the children for before and after school.

Breakfast club opens at 7.00am to 8.45am. Children booked onto the full session will also receive Breakfast.  After school club starts at 3.30pm with children escorted from class to The Tree House. A light snack, along with fruit and drinks are offered every afternoon. The Tree House closes at 6pm each night. The club is run to help parents who work and need extra help with childcare. We don't expect parents to always know what their work pattern will be, so we can accommodate shift work and also parents who may need the club for occasional use where spaces are available.

All our members of staff at the Tree House Club hold qualifications in play work, first aid and food hygiene and are all DBS checked. The staff ensure children have a variety of activities and toys to keep them occupied whilst also contributing to their development. Tree House Club also mirror the school values and are embedded in all they do.

Fees for the club are £6.50 for a full breakfast club session or £3.50 for half (8:15 onwards and not including breakfast) and £10.50 for after school club (we also offer sibling discount). This can be paid by via SCOPay or child care vouchers.

If you would like more information or registration forms for The Tree House, or would just like to pop in and have a chat with the staff, please email Mrs. Hennessy on treehouseclub@lawn.derby.sch.uk and we will get this arranged.

Our vision and values

At Treehouse we encourage and develop the same values as the rest of the school:

  • Empathy
  • Teamwork
  • Respect
  • Responsibility
  • Initiative
  • Integrity

We encourage the children to be independent where possible and for children to support each other across all age groups. Children have responsibilities for packing away and organising resources, breakfast area duties and are rewarded through the use of do-jo's or by being selected to go on our 'Treehouse Praise board' if they demonstrate our values. Currently we are working with the children on developing wider leadership roles.

'Treehouse' provides a breadth of activities covering:

  • Physical Development - with daily outdoor games led by a trained coach, access to the Trim Trail and outdoor gym area.
  • Colouring & mindfulness activities #wellbeing
  • Arts and Crafts #creativity
  • Reading zone #empathy #imagination #english skills
  • Jigsaws #teamwork
  • Role Play zone #imagination and communication
  • Construction zone #teamwork #initiative #creativity
