'I think it is important to help and contribute to the community. It feels good to help others and it makes others feel cared for and valued' (Y6)

There are many ways that Lawn Primary school, it's families and pupils are active in the community. The values we share including RESPECT, DEMOCRACY, INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY, TOLERANCE, EMPATHY, RESPONSIBILITY and TEAMWORK encourages pupils to be active citizens, who understand the value they have as individuals and the positive impact they can make.

  • Global Citizenship Awards
  • Care in the community project
  • Beat the Streets
  • Litter picking
  • Derby Community Trust
  • Carol Singing at the local shopping centre
  • Gifting decorations and cards at Christmas to local residents
  • Charitable events
  • Links with other schools - supporting their whole school development 
  • On line festivals with Derby schools
