Children are based in mixed ability classes and their class teacher is responsible for teaching most subjects, however, there are times when teachers take each others classes for particular lessons. 

To encourage a sense of community the children are placed in four house teams. These are based on the famous stately homes in Derbyshire.

They are:

Chatsworth - Green

Hardwick - Yellow

Elvaston - Red

Kedleston - Blue

The children can earn house points, earn trophies and sports awards. 

Every year Y6 can apply for the position of Captain and Vice Captain of their team.
