Remote Learning Provision

Our system for remote learning is set up in the event that a child is unable to attend school for a prolonged period time, but deemed healthy enough by a doctor to access learning, or in the unlikely event of a whole school closure. It is our policy that as much as possible, children should be accessing the same curriculum at home as that which is being delivered in school. This blended learning approach is accomplished using an app called Showbie. Details of this system can be accessed via the link below along with three video tutorials to assist in using the app

Your child's class teacher might also send bespoke resources specific to your child's needs and will continue to communicate via the Class Dojo app. The Trust have produced year group specific home learning booklets which can be accessed in the 'Lessons & Resources' section along with links to other highly recommended online resources. Please contact the office if you require a printed copy of one of these booklets.

Phonics Guidance Videos for Parents

Here are five videos made by Lawn's Phonics and Spelling lead to support you at home to understand how we teach phonics at Lawn Primary School. When your child's teacher has told you which phase of phonics they're learning, you can watch that phase video and hear what each individual phoneme sounds like. This is vital to understand how to best support your child at home, not only during these times of remote learning, but also throughout your child's reading learning journey in KS1 and beyond.
