Our school has been partnered with Batokeh Proper Lower Basic School in The Gambia for just over a year now. We have shared several 'snail' mail letters and festival cards. We have also been in touch via email.
Every half term we receive a powerpoint presentation from the school about their way of life and the things they do at school.
Children at Lawn get a glimpse of what being a child in the Gambia is like including being good Muslims.
The School Council raised over £700 for the school last year so they could get their tables and chairs replaced and also to plant new trees in the school grounds.
Over the next couple of years, the link is going to continue to grow with funding from the British Council to coordinate visits from their staff.
